What 'is' is.
American TV's favorite loathsome little reptile, Pat Robertson, denied calling for the assasination of Venesualan president Hugo Chavez, then, a few hours later, explained that it doesn't count, because "I spoke in frustration."
"I didn't say 'assassination.' I said our special forces should 'take him out,'" Robertson said on his show. "'Take him out' could be a number of things including kidnapping."
Indeed it could. Dinner and a movie, for example. Someone should start a "Worst Christian of the Year" award. He'd be a shoo-in.

'At the same time, Robertson continued to argue that Chavez is a danger to the United States and to suggest that assassinations are not always immoral. He quoted the Protestant theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer as saying: "If I see a madman driving a car into a group of innocent bystanders, then I can't, as a Christian, simply wait for the catastrophe. . . . I must try to wrestle the steering wheel out of the hands of the driver."
Robertson noted that Bonhoeffer was executed by the Nazis for supporting a plot to kill Adolf Hitler. His example, Robertson said, "deserves our respect and consideration today.'
Well good, good! I assume that means Pat is willing to walk into the belly of the beast -- and his capture by the Venezuelan Special Forces will be deeply tragic. We'll be giving him our "respect and consideration" afterwards.

Hey Pat Robertson, a riddle for you:
What's the difference between someone who calls for the assassination of the democratically elected leader of a nation -- and a terrorist? How about the difference between such a person -- and a Christian?
Take your time, chew on it a bit, exercise your moral muscles.
