On the other hand
I'm on the record with my opinion that enforcing Massachusetts' old anti-miscegenation law is a dumbass idea. However, I must admit that is striking that the Globe so consistently refers to it as "the 1913 law." You never see "the 1890 law against insider trading"* or murderers referred to as breaking "the 1647 law against killing people." They seem to be spinning it as dated; which it is, but the year in which it was passed doesn't automatically make it so.
* Example dates totally made up.
PS. The article that provoked this rant also contains the following paragraph:
He said he would remain focused on a "rising tide of drugs, violence, gun play, and protecting the children and the elderly."
This rising tide of child protection MUST BE STOPPED! Who knows what it might lead to?
