Fame Through Obscurity
I was reading a piece by the owner of the blog search engine IceRocket, about the spam blog issue. He favors the term "splog," but makes reference to other phrases, such as "zombie blogs." This grabbed my attention because, uh, I think I may have coined it. At the very least, not having seen it before, I used it in November of 2003, whence it got picked up by my friend Kip.
It's tricky to research, partially 'cause there are several blogs maintained by zombie movie afficonados muddying the namespace. If any of you can find an earlier use of the phrase than mine, please let me know.
