Son of Missing Words
We have hungry and thirsty and sleepy and horny. But what about desires that are no less real for being somewhat less universal? What about when you need a drink? Or a cigarette? What about when you need to curl up with a good book, punch a few walls, write some poetry, play Freecell till your eyes water? English seems sorely lacking in a vocabulary of specialized desire.
Someone who wished to end the oppression of women is called a feminist. What's someone who wishes to end the oppression of people of color called? What about someone who wishes to end the oppression of queer folks?

a couple words by Steph Lawton:
jonesing. you can be jonesing for any number of things. i like it because it's flexible. the book/wall/poetry/Freecell thing is what i call wigging. or did you mean the need for each of those individually? probably you should invent some words. I read somewhere that the OED considers something a word after it's appeared in print some specific number of times. I'm positive if you start now, you can get at least a couple of these English language gaps filled. I like to make up new words based on internet slang, myself. But I am a huge geek.
Get Yo' Wig On by Sebbo:
For jonesing, you still need to say what you're jonesing for, though.
I meant individually. However, I definitely think if you want all those things at once, wigging is an appropriate term for what you're doing.
