A few more words about Gravatars

It's a neat gimmick, and I want to encourage you guys to try it out--you create an account including an e-mail address, and upload an 80x80 image (so IM style, rather than Livejournal style). If you have an icon you like already lying around, the process will take about two minutes.

Then, when you enter your e-mail address on a Gravatar-enabled site, the site sends an endrypted request to Gravatar.com and gets the icon to display by your comment.

I was sold on this being useful as well as cute when I realized that I was having a much easier time keeping track of who was saying what on Greg Vario's blog 'cause of their gravatars.

It's not a validation service--if I know your email address, I can use your gravatar, and if I don't I can copy it and paste it in to my own account, but it is a nice visual device, AND, I managed to add support for it to Blosxom all by my lonesome (well, with a little help from the inventor), so I want to see it used.
